Local Stars in 3D

Smooth flight viewscreen for 3D local stars needs the free Cortona 3D Plugin.

Compatible browsers are only: Internet Explorer v.11 and Sea Monkey. The Cortona 3D Plugin works perfectly, but it uses older code and only these two browsers still support it.

The 'Local Stars in 3D' viewscreen is, unfortunately, NOT available for Edge, Firefox or Chrome and other browsers. The access buttons for [Wide] and [Full] will only appear on the upper left yolk handle for compatible browsers.

Sky Map

Click in Sky Map, choose angle of view and click [Go] to fly to that constellation.

Sky

Google Sky, all constellations, Hubble Showcase, Galaxy Search, Solar Systems, Backyard Astonomy, Chandra X-Ray, GALEX Ultraviolet, Spitzer Infared, Earth & Sky Podcasts, Sloan Digital Sky Survey and the Digitized Sky Survey. There are also direct link access to Google Moon and Mars.

Earth Map

Click in Earth Map, choose elevation and heading and click [Go] to fly to that location.

Earth

Google Earth access with 2D, 3D, Local Guides, Street view, Virtual Tours, 360 degrees images, Location Reviews, Travel directions and Live Traffic.

Moon

Moon Trek from JPL, with projections 3D, Hi-res layers, Explorer guides. Menu Related link to the asteroid Vesta Trek in 3D.

Mars

Viewscreen & Feature Guides

Guide window on / off (This window): Guides automatically update, when a feature is choosen. To look at other guides, click on lower right sphere in this window to open the Quick Guide Selector.

World Telescope

Imagery from telescopes around the world and in orbit, tours of the Universe, user contributed content, Explore Mode, 3D features to planets, stars & galaxies. Finder Scope links to Wikipedia. Layer Manager for cconstellations, grids and orbital paths

Stellar Neighborhood. Zoom and explore.

Destinations

Voyage routes to destinations around the Universe. Click in the left to right scrollable image collection in the center right console monitor. The Engine Throttle will appear. Click the throttle to push it forward to fly to a galaxy, star system or planet.

Turn on active monitors and internal security cameras.

Support Help Buttons

3D Help will only appear as a button if your browser supports the 3D fly-through local stars viewscreen. Only Internet Explorer v.11 and Sea Monkey browsers will support the free Cortona 3D Plugin.

Other browsers have decided to no longer support NPAPI Plugins due to security issues. These issues have never been a problem with Cortona's plugin.
